The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity was organized in 1908 as an English speaking congregation, succeeding a German congregation with the same name at the same location that had been organized in 1901 and closed in 1907.

On July 15, 1974, the church was nearly destroyed and the organ burned when vandals built a bonfire inside the church. More than 100 firefighters were called to the scene. Over the next few years, the church was rebuilt and a new organ was installed, culminating in a service of rededication on June 10, 1979. A school and library were added later.

I am shocked and saddened to see that the building that once housed a vibrant and faithful group of followers of Jesus Christ is now a Muslim center.
